CCU Summer 2010 - Save the Date: March 21

As Spring approaches, it only means one thing: Summer is on the way! The Cumberland Sports Ministry would like to welcome all who are interested in participating and competing in the Chinese Christian Union (CCU) Summer sports leagues. Our mission is to develop mature Christians and engage others with the message of Christ through healthy sports competition.

Based on recent feedback and new direction for the ministry, we plan to make a few changes this year. We ask you to keep a few things in consideration for your participation this summer. We will organize teams to best equip and achieve our ministry goals and your participation will be allocated to meet the needs of each team to foster Christian growth and develop leaders. In previous years we tried our best to accommodate all interested players and in doing so, with increased team sizes, it decreased the time for individual to play and made it difficult to bond and connect with fellow teammates. We will plan to limit team sizes to encourage smaller groups for a better overall experience. Other changes include leadership, expected roles of individuals, commitments of players, commitment of coaches and staff and a greater focus on fellowship and building healthy relationships.

I know you want to know more. We will be having one day enrollments on Sunday, March 21 at 1:15 PM at Cumberland Chinatown Campus, most likely in the Social Hall (basement) or in Room B06. Please contact a CSM committee member for more information or email cumberland.sport@gmail.com.
